KID INK- 'Main Chick'

LYRICS

[Intro: Chris Brown]
I told her "fuck that nigga"

(Mustard on the beat ho)

[Hook: Chris Brown]
I don't know your name, but you've heard my name
I know why you came...
Tryna get that name, but you've heard my name
Girl I know you wanna be my main chick, my main chick
I said fuck whoever you came with, who you came with
I told her "Fuck that nigga"
(I don't know ya)

[Verse 1: Kid Ink]
We sitting in the back of the club
Table got a rope in the front (I don't know ya)
Uhh you looking real familiar, I could just be a lil' drunk
I don't know your name, it's a goddamn shame
I don't know how to explain it for ya
But, girl, I'm just saying
If you got a man back home, I don't know him
What, just keep it on the hush
Pocket full of trees, don't beat around the bush
Walk on green, I can even hear the putt
K.O shawty when I hit her with a punchline
Get a couple shots when it's crunch time
Ducking from my ex like a one time
Throw a sign when you really tryn' go
Got the car parked right at the door

[Hook]

[Tyga:]
AHHH
A-all on my line with the same text
Fresh off the P.Jet trynna get your pussy wet
You super ready, shawty I know that
If homie got a problem, we address him, tell him hold that
Toat that
All my niggas flame up the yoda
We could leave in the roaster
Doing shit you ain't suppose ta
Rozzay, rolex, sex in your new Lex
Got a lot of condos I could put you in one
Ahhh
T-raw I'm something like your papi now, she getting use to me
She happy now, watching bridesmaids, think she got it made now
Ass up, face down, puff, pass the weed around
Young hitter, she just wanna doggy style
Pumping snoop album now, balling on the balcony
What's your name.. Natalie
I ain't even asking ya, I just know you bad as fuck
BUT I DON'T

[Hook]

[Verse 2: Kid Ink]
Nah, and you don't know my name, no
Just in case you' the feds, I don't know ya
Uh I might'a poured you a drink
But don't let it go to your head
I know why you... came
Tryna be my main chick (yeah)
Passenger side when I lane switch
Top back, two seats only
Ain't no room for your friends, I don't know them
We just seizing the moment
Up all night, throw a deuce to the morning (wait)
Fly mo'fucka, everything is imported (wait)
Don't try to act too important
I know your game
You got a gang of niggas, all over you
But you all over here, on me (on me)
Girl, I ain't tryna dog ya (nope)
Bad bitch only thing I'll call you

[Hook]

[Verse 3: Chris Brown]
Baby, why you playin'? You heard my name

She gon' gimme that brain so we can do our thang
Let's do that thang
What you thinking 'bout me taking you down, yeah
I can be your man when he's not around, yeah

[Hook]

The video begins by introducing us to the artists of the song, Kid Ink, Chris Brown and Tyga. After this, the title of the song is shown on the screen 'Main Chick'. At this moment, all we can hear is the diegetic sound of the aeroplane that appears to be the main focus of this music video introduction. As the entrance to the plane opens, we are shown a woman who appears to be dressed as a flight attendent. This shot is shortly followed by what appears to be a selection of girls all dressed in provocative dresses with nicely done make-up as if they are on a night out. We are also briefly introduced to a man that appears to be a bodyguard and this leads us into thinking that the girls are waiting to be let onto the plane.

[Intro: Chris Brown]
I told her "fuck that nigga"

In this short clip we have a close up shot of  a womans' lips. The red lipstick and lip gloss is used to make her lips look enticing, however, when her mouth moves, the words of a male come out. The lyrics with this clip are 'I told her fuck that nigga'. My initial thoughts on this clip were that the female in this clip was reciting what a man had previously said to her, which is why it came out of her mouth in his voice.

In this clip we are introduced to two out of the three main artists in this music video, Kid Ink and Tyga. Chris Brown does not feature in this music video. The words 'Kid Ink' is written on a black wall multiple times in silver with thick black ink running down over it, connoting the word 'Ink' in the main artists' names. Noticeably, the rappers have specific iconography symbols for rap such as the tattoo'd skin, the big chunky chain necklaces and hats. (Screenshot of what iconograpy is) The all black outfits with baggy jeans, tops and big chained necklaces all meet the expectations of the Rapper stereotype.

Using this clip we can refer to Andrew Goodwin's 'Danicing in the Distraction Factory'.

"There are frequent references to the notion of looking and the voyeuristic treatment of the female body".

Andrew Goodwin highlights that women are subjected to voyeuristic treatment in music videos, particularly more noticeable in reccurring genres such as Rap and RnB music genres. The women used in the music video are treated voyeuristically causing them to become stereotypically attractive as they are wearing very revealing clothing items. The women in the music video dance around the main artist implying that they would do anything to get their attention.

The voyeuristic treatment of women refers to a person who derives sexual gratification. The lyrics used in this clip whilst the women are being treated voyeuristically are "Girl I, know you wanna be my Main Chick". This implies that all of the women in the music video are desperately trying to impress the main artist in hope of becoming what is referred to as his 'Main Chick'.

This clip begins with the lyrics 'I don't know your name, its a goodamn shame'. This lyric implies that the artist is being sarcastic as they genuinely do not care what the names of the women that they are treating voyeuristically are. When the artists says "Its a goddamn shame" he is sat down in a chair surrounded my girls with his accompanying artist next to him. They look at the women as if they are judging them. On board the plane that they are on, there are several poles dotted around for the girls to dance around. The poles are placed directly in front of the artists so that they can watch them dance.

"But, girl, I'm just saying, if you got a man back home, I don't know him"

This lyric implies that the artist does not care whether the woman he is with is in a relationship or not and that regardless of that he would still sleep with her and pretend that he does not know the person who she is in a relationship with. As we hear this, we see that the naked girl is still dancing and has 'Kid Ink', the name of the artists, tattood down her back. The camera shot has been doubled so that it looks like a mirror double which can be done through the use of an effect called 'Linear Wipe'. Next in the clip we are shown another clotheless girl who is wearing only a black bikini and we are shown short transition clips of different parts of her body with ink dripping down them. I think that this is used to mark that the woman belongs as such to Kid Ink as the Ink represents his name.
